

The Huntsville Museum of Art, in Huntsville, Alabama, will premiere a new exhibition of the world’s very best contemporary airbrush art. Opening in the Huth, Boeing & Salmon Galleries, ‘Under Pressure: Painting with Air – A Survey of Contemporary Airbrush Realism‘ opens on Sunday, Oct. 24, and lasts thru January 16th the following year. The exhibition consists of 45 original works of art, by 15 of the very best artists who have chosen airbrush as their principal medium of expression. Big names in the Airbrush World like Alan Pastrana, Dru Blair and Don Eddy, to name a few.

“The last exhibition to broadly survey airbrushed fine art that I am aware of was The Artist and The Airbrush, curated by Barbara Rogers 40 years ago at San Jose State University in California,” David K. Wagner, the curator of Under Pressure, informed us.

Alan Pastrana will be in attendance, the artist who was commissioned by Kanye West to create Yeezy t-shirt designs, custom airbrushed jackets, commemorate his mother & father in law, and a slew of portraits for merchandising. And by Fashion designer Heron Preston to beautify his clothing with his original designs. Alan’s work can also be seen on this event’s banner designs.
The show will also be accompanied by a lecture and reception with a talk by renowned airbrush artist Don Eddy on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. Tickets for that event are on sale now and can be purchased at hsvmuseum.org.
